Problems with rendering transparent materials

Im working on some renders of transparent marquees for events and stuff. i’m having some issues with the transparent part. as you may have noticed, the transparent plastic seems like tinted glass, which is not ideal. why does this happen? i have tried tweaking the material properties (index of reflection , roughness, distance of reflection, etc) and this is the best i got, a transparent material , but still looks tinted. i discovered that changing the background makes it look right, but i need the white background.

any idea ?

i would really appreciate it 🙂

as you can see in the first image the material parameters(glass clear) are exaggerated, like the reflective index of air , a huge number in absorption distance and  pure white. this confused me even more. like even in this exaggerated case it still looks off. i just want it to look like a natural glass, somewhat invisible but noticeable by the reflections and its borders.

Hi! The appearance style could be corrupted. If possible, please share the f3d file here. I would like to take a closer look.

Many thanks!

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the design! I took a quick look at the model. I think it is probably due to the surface bodies. The appearance style looks fine. There is no corruption. However, when the transparency (Glass for example) is applied to a surface body, it does carry a little cream tint compared to a solid body (see below image).

I suggest you edit those parts and thicken the surfaces to create solid bodies and hide the surface bodies. Then the cream tint will be gone.

Thanks again!
