Problem with shell (Body cannot be repaired after deleting faces error)

Hello all

I'm having a problem with the shell feature. Once I increase the 78mm measurement shown below to widen the end stop, the shell feature falls over. I've spent hours trying to work out why this is happening to no avail. If I extrude the end stop only on one side and combine bodies then shell works ok, but not when I have both side of end stop bodies combines to make 1 body. Hope someone can shed some light on this. It's quite a basic model.

Thanks in advance

Andrew

It does not make logical sense to do a Shell after Combine1.

Before I remodel this from scratch - how will it be manufactured? Injection molded? Only 3D printed?

BTW - did you notice these artifacts?

Thank you for pointing the artifact out @TheCADWhisperer

I can see its from a cut I have done but I'm struggling to get rid of it. I will persevere. Thank you for the remodel offer but will try and fix myself as I feel its better way to learn. And yes its 3d print for little project and the end stops/shell that are breaking are a post print adjustment and hence its not ideal work flow.

Thanks again!

I hesitate to suggest how to get rid of those as I would model this part completely differently, but simply select the faces and hit the Delete key.

You are trying to create parametric ribs.

Your ribs are causing issues with the external radii of the box. When you move your dimension to 80mm, the ribs overlap to the internal radii of the box and Fusion cannot resolve that geometry. I suggest using the new "thin extrude" command instead of using "shell" to create your ribs.

Attached is my suggested workflow... (the sketches in this suggested model are not defined. I intentionally leave them unfixed to show you where you have to constrain the lines to create ribs using the new "thin extrude" command).

Good luck...
