Problem with pipe

Maybe I've just become dumb, but is pipe not working anymore?

I found this:

Which says, click pipe, click path, drag distance manipulator.

Where is it?

weird.  working correctly on my end.  try the standard restarting of everything and if it keeps doing it post a screen cast of what you're doing-

It works again after I restored defaults in preferences. Still don't understand what happened.
