Problem with component visibilty as shaded solid

I'm machining this model engine (manual machining only I don't have any CNC machinery) and working on the 3d model at the same time, I had to put it on the back burner for 6 or so months and have recently opened the 3D model to commence work once again. I recall I was having an issue with the visibility of the cylinder heads at the time I mothballed the project. The issue is that I can only see the cylinder heads as a shaded solid if I make them the active component - if I make the whole project active by clicking on the top of the browser tree I can see all of the components as shaded solids except the cylinder heads which remain as wire frame - I've tried left clicking and "show bodies" and also "show components" with no change, I have googled it and have only found "show bodies" and "show components" which I already tried is someone able to point me in the right direction - I'm not keen on deleting the cylinder heads and doing them again, any help is appreciated.Screenshot 2020-10-20 231609.jpgpreciated .

Hi,

Please demonstrate actions on these assemblies in a screencast or share a reconstructed file.

Not sure if I found a permanent fix, but..... I saved the cylinder head as a separate file and went back through the time line to the first extrusion, right clicked and tried various options - "convert to DM feature" - a bit of trial and error I guess - not really the right way to tackle a problem but it did the trick it now displays as a shaded solid, applied the same fix to the engine file.

Guenther many thanks for the reply - I'm quite new to 3d modelling and I'm not too sure what you are asking for, I think maybe a copy of the file or a short video of the issue - in any case the issue may be solved - I hope - so no need.

Not sure if model engines are you thing but if you are interested in the engine I can give you a copy of the file if you want to play around with it - engine is approx 25cc - around 125mm long - so far I have machined the block and crankshaft.

Hi,

Sometimes you see things from the outside that a direct participant does not register.
Compute All (CTRL+B) sometimes works wonders or moving the marker to the end of the timeline.

good luck for the future work
