Problem: GENERATING MESH stops at 80%

Hi everyone!
I've got problem with simulation module. When the mesh is being generated process slows down at 80% and finally crashes. Report says 'no further information' about why.
Many models and some mesh-generating options tested with same result.

I'll be thankful for any help or sugestions.

Hello,

I would like to ask you if you could share with us a model where is possible to reproduce the issue. If you do not want to share it here in the forum you can post it to me directly pavel.holecek[AT]autodesk.com . -  F3D file will be better  to have also possibility to check your mesh settings

thank you a lot

Here's public link to file:

I don't think that problem source is model. I try with simple shape rectangle abou 50x300x5mm on default settings. It's always same issue.

Thank you for answer.

Hello,

thank you for your model. I do not have the problem with your model -  as you mentioned it looks like that the problem is not with model - it could be with installation or with OS.

I would like to ask you for another information to simulate the problem:

1. What OS do you use Windows or MAC?

2. What language (regional settings) do you use?

3. decimal separator?

Thank you a lot

Regards

The FEAComputeServer.log file contains entries like this:

Failed to launch volume mesher err = 193
         VolMesh meshing failed

Basically, execution of the volume mesher executable fails in the customer environment.

It looks like error 193 means "Bad EXE format".  It appears that our volume mesher executable is not working in the OS version or user environment.

To diagnose the specific problem. perhaps the customer can run the following command from the command line:

        C:\Users\Omnis Arma\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\64cd1225aaecdd36644b12e5453e4d4c995e22b0\\mg-tetra.exe

Windows is likely to generate an error message that helps us identify the problem.  For example, it may be due to an incomplete installation, where some files are missing.

On the development side, we need to improve our diagnostics, to report the failure of launching volume mesher to the user, and terminate promptly.

This issue may be related to a missing Microsoft library on Windows 10, namely the Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable package:

             https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003

We will fix this dependency issue in the next release.  In the mean time, the customer may be able to work around the issue by installing the Microsoft package.

Hello!

Unfortunately, installing that package didn't help.

Thank you for trying!

Sorry about that.  Thanks for trying.

The good news is that we have a fix for this issue, that should be released as soon as it goes through all the testing.

In the interim, you may be able to try one more experiment.   The Microsoft package should have included a file  Visual Studio 2013 DLL, namely  "MSVCR120.DLL" .

If you can copy "MSVCR120.DLL" to the executable directory below, it is possible that the issue will be resolved:

C:\Users\Omnis Arma\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\64cd1225aaecdd36644b12e5453e4d4c995e22b0\\
