Problem exporting to STL

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have problems to export some projects to stl, the errors are the following:

Error: Autodesk Translation Services failed to translate the current document to stl file!
Error: STL Translator failed to export data

If I create a new box there are no problems but with some other more elaborate projects (not all) I can't export.

I attached an example.

I'm new to this program, maybe I'm missing some basics.

Thank you

Hello Friend!

I've been exporting your attached file to the extension in STL. in my Fusion 360, I did not find any kind of problem exporting was a success. I am attaching the file for your validation.

For you to prepare an export in STL you must select the part as shown in the attached images:

By following these steps you can implement this in other projects.

I hope it has helped you, your STL file is attached 🙂

Can you make a screencast to show your selection process?

I tried both by selecting manually the object and selecting by clicking on "Bodies" -> "Body1"

I tried to modify a project that I can export correctly by extruding a couple of faces, after the extrusion it starts giving me this problem.

With a project I solved this by simply moving the body in the positive axes value region of the space, but when I tried this on others it didn't work.

I don't know what to do.

I was just having this same problem. After random clicks, it rendered and worked for me--I had preview mesh selected. Wondering if it was an issue on the server side. Is yours working now?

@Anonymous It's more than likely a problem at your end in fusion, I can not fail the stl export doing it every way possible. This is a case for the fusion support staff and what you should in your picks is correct.

It will help support if you show this fail in a screencast, and attach your error log files

@jeff_strater can you have a look or pass on please.

What I seem to be seeing us an unusually long render time. It errors, but continues processing, so eventually I see it.

Note this is with multiple stl, and multiple ways of generating the stl.

I tried to install Fusion on my laptop and there the export works...

I attached the screencast and the diagnostic logs.

Hi @Anonymous,

Happy to take a look.  I have the same experience as @daniel_lyall with this model.  It exports fine for me.  The export succeeds, and I can bring the resulting STL back into Fusion, and it looks fine.  Can you please record a screencast of the exact steps you take to experience the failure?  Perhaps we are doing things in a different order, or with different values in the STL dialog.

Jeff

See my previous post.

Maybe I should just reinstall the software.
