Problem combining geometry, validation etc

Hi all,

At some point my design has developed issues where the majority of the time I cannot use the combine tool, extrude etc etc.

My current action is to combine with Body 1 or Copper Block, and Body 42 of copper block, cutting with body 42 as the tool and keeping the tool. It comes up with "there was a problem combining the geometry together." I have tried extruding out of body1 but it comes up with the same error.

I have put it into direct design and validated both parts. This seems to have removed similar issues with body42 on its own and now allows me to extrude etc this part, but hasn't resolved interactions with body1.

My design can be found attached.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Please note I am a very basic Fusion 360 user so please explain any answer as if I was 5 😂

Thank you

There are common areas where both bodies are occupying the same space,

most obvious is the big flat face where these colours are trying to mix.

On the face of it, the two bodies have both been cut by the pipes.

Instead of Combine, you may have to remove the material another way.

With such a short timeline I was not expecting over 100 sketches.

Blue sketch articles should keep you awake at night.  A lot of these fins could be done with modelling features or patterns, not sketches.

Might help....

Awesome thanks, I'll try and extrude some of the bits from one body so the edges are not so aligned, and give that a go.

I lost the history when I went into direct mode to validate the parts and then went out of direct mode which then started the history again. I can go to a previous version to get the full history but will give your observations a go first. I don't know how I end up with so many sketches. This part has taken me a long time to develop, change/alter as I got new ideas etc, and I tried to go back to original sketches to edit, but find it just easier to start a new sketch. Hopefully I'll get better at it, but I only use fusion probably once a year for a single project and then unlearn everything inbetween.

Thanks again
