Printing a bumpy surface

I'm new to fusion 360 and Printrbot using Cura. I was able to apply an appearance to my model but it does not print. Am I missing a step? I want a bumpy texture.

thanks

Your not missing anything, currently it is not possible to do what you want in fusion, you will need to take your model to another app to get the results your after.

The bump effect in Fusion like with all other apps that use bump is fake.

All the that is happening is that through artificial highlights and shadows and reflection adjustments you get the illusion of a 3D structure.

Pay attention to edges of an object and you will see that this is a pure 2D effect and not a real 3D surface structure.

For that you would need a 3D displacement capability which you will hardly find in any CAD app as that is against the nature of NURBS.

With zBrush Modo Maya Blender you could really rough up the surface structure and print it.

But this basically can only work well in a polygon environment.
