Preparing an stl for exactflat pattern making

I am trying to prepare an stl to import into exact flat to create a pattern.  I remeshed the stl in mesh workspace to reduce facets, cut the stl into a series of sections and created a number of mesh bodies, appeared to have created some pieces but they will not publish to exact flat? 

What workspace should I be preparing the stl in?

Is the file that you attached the original stl, or is it one that you have already edited?

I see several areas that I would fix in MeshMixer first.  The overall quality appears to be very poor.
