Premature Sketches

Community, 

I am new to this software but not to CAD software. When trying to stetch any sort of line or any shape, it will place the starting point of the sketch where I clicked the option to draw the sketch. For example I want to draw a line, after clicking the top menu selection ( the dropdown) it places the starting point of my line where the dropdown menu used to be. I have thought maybe in the perferences, then I thought it was a problem with my mouse or hardware but it didnt seem to solve it. Now I suspect the problem to be with an update or hardware on my end. I am using the lastest form of OSX (10.10) i7 and 8 GRAM. I believe this is enough to run it without a problem or maybe I just have a perference that I cannot find. Thank you in advance for trying to help me and any advice in troubling shooting would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums and can you let us know what software you are trying to use here? For example are you using Fusion, or maybe Inventor? This is the A360 Forum and you will get more replies if we can get you pointed to the right forums for help.

What actual hardware are you using ?

To be more precise, are you working with an iMac or macbook and a track pad or with a magic mouse or are you using another mouse or HID ?
