Possible to include Section Analysis in a Drawing?

I want to include a  Section Analysis in a Drawing & add dimensions. Can it be done? I don't see "Analysis" in the Browser Tree when I create a new drawing file. Note I said Section Analysis, not Section View.

Thnx,

Aaron

Hi, Peter, as implemented in Fusion 360, Section Analysis is the intersection of the model with a plane. The Section View shows the intersection of the model with a plane and all other parts of the model that would be visible as if you were looking perpendicular to that plane.

So, is there any way to get the Section Analysis in a drawing file?

Thnx,

Aaron

Are you saying you want to view the Section Analysis from an angle other than 90 degrees?  Otherwise there doesn't appear to be any difference between the two.

semantics. I still don't quite get what your asking.  Is this what you mean?

Um...a Section Analysis in the model shows all material in the model that is behind the cut plane also. What are you talking about?

I have noticed that sometimes when I switch to the Analysis view in the model space, then save the file, the associated drawing iso view will update to the analysis (section) view. This behavior is inconsistent and I cannot figure out how to control it. Today I wanted to use this to create the sectioned/analysis view from the model in my drawing and it will not show the view in the iso as has happened in the past. Too bad because it is the easiest way I have found to represent the off angle sections (easier than having to create a drawing section view then iso that in the drawing space. Does anyone else know how to carry the analysis view into the drawing iso view?

OK, I figured out the steps I was taking to accidentally do exactly what I wanted and that is to see the Analysis view in the drawing environment shaded iso view. Here is what I do. As far as I can tell this is not a documented capability but works for me....give it a try. You probably won't be able to dimension it but the iso view looking into the model (as shown in the Analysis view) is nice to see.
1) Create a drawing iso view that is a "shaded" view.
2) In the model, do an analysis plane cut to create the desired Analysis (“section”) view of the model
3) Save the model.
4) In the drawing, select the shaded iso view and go into the edit mode for the view, click one of the shaded view icons to force it to update the iso view and it seems to bring in the cross section (analysis) view of the model currently saved in the model space.
