Pattern will not allow material to be cut away

I am trying to make a pattern of a cap design in a hand held marker holder.  When trying to make a pattern (6.8" x 10 total) the cut away of the original cap is not duplicated on the other nine.  Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?  Thanks

Change the feature pattern to "optimized".
