Pattern square hole

Anyone,

I need help inserting the "plus" formation pieces into the bottom layer. Both materials are 2 inches thick. I want the "plus" pieces to fit inside of the bottom layer flush with a little bit of offset. The "plus" layer is in blue and there are five pieces that are 8" x 8". The thought of the sketch is each of the square foams can be removed. There is no bottom. The square will be flush at the top and bottom of the material. Drawing is below. Probably easy for an expert.

Thanks

If you can share the design as you have it right now that would help. It makes relatively little sens to work with a linked component in such a simple design 😉

@Anonymous,

There are several different ways to approach this.

1. Model the two different bodies, use the combine Boolean to cut the rectangle and then sketch the offset.  Next you can create a pattern of the features.

2.  You could create a sketch that contains everything and then do separate extrudes to create the different bodies.

3. Another way to to have them be separate components and then create a sketch on the rectangle, project the squares, followed by a cut.

Cheers,

@Anonymous,

To share go the the dropdown and select the share option you would like to use.  You can also export out an archive file and email it.
