Pattern feature doesn't work

I create 2 components, "Combine" them with a cut and when trying to pattern that cut feature, nothing happens.

Am I missing something here, or this is a bug?

Seems that somewhat similar issue is with mirroring features, some features are not mirrored. In case of the box sample, always the "outer" fillet is not mirrored:

Hi texxik,

Sorry about this, the mirrors in your second message are definitely a bug, we'll look at this right away.

I'll follow up on the pattern features soon.

Cheers,

Indy

Hi texxik,

Indeed the first issue - pattern - doesn't  give expected result. We will look into this.

A quick workaround is to use pattern "faces" pattern type and select all the faces of the hole like feature.

We will update on both the issues. Thanks for reporting.

Hi texxik

Thanks for reporting. For the Mirror issue, we have asked the development team to look into it (the tracking ID is FUS-16721). Hope it can be fixed soon.

As for the Pattern issue, it’s a current limitation that we don’t support the cross-component pattern. If the cylinder and the box are within the same component, selecting the cylinder and combine features together then patterning will work. This is already in our wish list for future consideration.

Meanwhile, Anand’s workaround should work for both issues.

Thanks, good to know it is being looked at.

Although I ran into yet another potential mirror bug - see https://screencast.autodesk.com/main/details/21740ed2-908e-462f-8c25-dd228347e530

When I mirror all these 3 faces together, it mirrors incorrectly. When I do 2 separate mirrors, first for the main face and second for 2 fillets, the features work correctly.

Oh, one more unrelated thing, maybe you can forward it to someone who deals with website - the screencast website shows Fusion360 icon on the bottom leftside. That icon is 20x20 px, but the image used for it is 2048x2048, just downsized. Hence it loads very slowly, bad practice 🙂

Regarding the icon, do you mean this one? I see it as 44 x 44 pixels.

Yep, that's the image. But it is 2048x2048 actually, just downsized for that view in the web:

Any update on the pattern mirroring bug (FUS-16721)? Today I ran into it again and it is very annoying indeed.

Unfortunately in the current case I cannot use "mirror faces" workaround, it creates too many of them and after that every operation takes 1minute to recalculate the pattern again.

There is also an "extra" feature. Midplane creation doesn't work properly, I am not sure whether it is due to the patterning or sweep features. Here is how it looks:

Any ideas on this?

Regarding FUS-16721,

I looked at the bug report and it's still waiting for a fix in a third party component. I've asked for comments and updated the report to mention your recent inquiry. Sorry for the trouble.

Hello @vilts We have updated the Fusion 360 icon on the Screencast page with a lower resolution one to enable faster load time for the page. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
