Pattern Copy and Groups

Hey,

I have been using the pattern copy function a lot lately. I included a file with a basic path and a component i copied along the path. You can move the components independantly but I have not found a way to edit them separately within Parametric modelling. I know if I go to history free mode I can click on the component and make them independant.

My question is with cloned copies of components/bodies is there any way within parametric modelling to make them an independant group ? I don't think there is but I want to make sure. With my file I attached that would look like having one of the posts longer then the others.

thanks

This thread may help: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/help-with-my-first-project/m-p/6907865#M1005... You may have to get creative in order to constrain only one of the copies.  Perhaps another spline with the desired heights would work.

One option is make the pattern using bodies then convert the bodies to components. You then have independent copies after the pattern but you can roll the timeline to before the copy and modify all copies.
