Paste new

I am still having trouble finding "paste new" so I can copy a component or body and have the new copy be fully independent from the original as I modify each. Can someone out there point me to the right spot to find this command?

In the model browser, select the component you want to copy, right-click and select Copy.

Then in the model browser again, select the component level where you want to insert that copied component, and right-click to select Paste New.

Also, Paste New seems not to be available for bodies, but the bodies can be altered independently after where the copy took place in the Timeline.

On the other hand, going back in the Timeline to before the copy was made and making changes there, it will affect both the original and the copied body.

A couple of things you need to right click a different component in the browser. If you right click on the same component you're copying it doesn't paste into it and for some reason there's no paste new. You can also right click anywhere in the drawing area and it will paste into the active component, as long as you're not copying the active component.

Thank you for the answers. I must be thick or something but I am not getting it at all. I never get a paste new option - just paste. I have capture history on. Is it possible that is part of the problem?

Ah so - just found it. Thank you guys! Only seems to work for components and not bodies. That was the trick

I had the same problem, the over design was activated and I couldn't paste new a component inside the design.

save your file

try again.

I think that was the problem for me. I tried many things, and after saving it worked.
