Paste/New gives extrude warning if component has text

When I paste/new a component with text, the following warning is generated:

Warning: Extrude2
1 Reference Failures
Cannot complete extrusion.

The extrusion appears to be correct in the newly pasted component but the error is generated. Is this normal behavior?

Exploding the text gets rid of the warning but then each letter has to be selected to execute the extrude command in the original component. Window selection does not work as the profile for the centers of the letters "d, e and o" get selected and extruded which is incorrect for these letters.

There is a problem - a warning is generated when the native text is in a component that is copied by paste/new. The component copies and looks correct - the text is extruded as in the original component. The warning is not there if the text is exploded in the original component. The warnings that you highlighted are what I am talking about - why are they generated when the component appears to be copied correctly? What do you mean by the extrusion is not good enough? It works if the text is exploded. Seems to be problem with non-exploded text - not the extrusion.

did some more checking in my file and if I edit the extrusion - just go to edit it but change nothing the error goes away. Very confusing as nothing is changed in the edit. Still do not know why the error appeared in the first place.

Compute all also makes it go away

okay, your right. I didn't understand you well at first.

whenever I just copy and paste the body everything is fine.

Your noticed error is reproducible and I think it is really misterious.

I think the merger/past new is losing the reference.

very mysterious but easy to make a work around - just edit the extrude or compute all
