Parameters Name Error?

Hello All!

I am back with another parameters error.

I have attached a screencast showing the error as well.

It is easy to reproduce on a new file:

- create a parameter "ThisName" and set a value (1 is fine)

- create a new parameter "Name" and try to set the value as "ThisName" in the creation window...suddenly it says the parameter name "Name" is invalid??

- Set the value of "Name" to anything to be allowed to create it (2 is fine)

- You now have two variables - ThisName (value=1) and Name (value=2) - Change the value of Name to ThisName - it accepts it. So now ThisName=1 and Name=ThisName.

But...why doesn't it let you create Name with the value ThisName?? Why can't you name a parameter, and use a parameter name that CONTAINS the name on creation, but you can use it afterwards?? It's driving me crazy Smiley Very Happy

Is the internal "check the value and parameter name do not match" set to check if any part matches on creation for some reason?

Everything works fine after I create and change the value as shown in the screencast.

Thanks so much! Smiley LOL

Hi Autumn.S,

Many thanks for reporting the issue. It's a very good finding! The behavior is not expected. I can reproduce it and have reported it to the development team.

Thank you again for the detailed steps.
