Output to DWG only shows dimensions and not the component opened in Draftsight

I am creating a drawing from a component - the drawing on screen looks good, with the item, and the dimensions - I use output to DWG to create a dwg file but when I open the dwg (using draftsight 2018) all I see is the dimensions and not the actual component?

Hey chrisW7TDU,

The short answer is that Draftsight and other non-Autodesk apps don’t display our view objects. DWF TrueView, AutoCAD and LT will. Exploded DWGs to model space which will be viewable by other programs are on the roadmap and working their way up the backlog.

Also Autocad mobile or Autocad Mac does not show the model either. Is there a work around?

Some people have had luck using DWG Trueview to save as an older version then open in Draftsight. Can't remember the version that works, might be 2010.
