Opening a file crashes F360

Hi All,
I'm not sure what is going on with a simple file of mine.

Everytime I start F360 it goes to my current project, which is good, but the progress circle spins for a very long time on the picture of my current project.

When trying to double click on the current file (still spinning progress circle) F360 crashes.

I thought I could choose a previous version, but can't access that either. (still spinning progress circle)

Any ideas on how to get my work back?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @tkuechle,

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing the issue with Fusion 360. I will check the error report you have submitted with the development team, and will get back to you as soon as I learn more.

Hi @tkuechle

It seems like the file is corrupted for some reason. Could you send me a diagnostic log files and a public link to the design with the issue at masanobu.minohara@autodesk.com? We are going to investigate the issue further.

Hi  tkuechle!

There may be several reasons for the files to not open and instead keep on loading. You can adapt an alternate option to load your file in fusion 360 through A360.

Go to "a360.autodesk.com". Open your design there and click "Open in Fusion360" tab. It will open your file in Fusion360 without taking much time. There are even less chances for Fusion 360to crash if the file is opened this way.

Regards

Thank you for your effort.
It is, for me, educational. I'm am starting to understand the issues between synching files with the cloud and how to more quickly resolve issues.

I think that I mave have found the culprit, (imported geometry?)

1. Imported a STEP file of a simple macine screw. was recognized as a solid body.

2. Imported a second STEP file with cross head slot detail.

3. Used projection to copy slot head details.

4. Used slot head detail to cut into a copy of the modified 1st imported part (body).

5. integrated the bodies into the main assembly. Broke links to original file. Created components from each imported body.

6. Try to save Assembly = crash

7. One and 1/2 hours trying to figure out what was going wrong.

8. opened older version.

 = stabile

9. worked on original imported part, changed to component, saved, imported to Assembly = Stabile

Good to know there is that option.

Thank you.

I figured out how to create the diagnositc file. But, in doing so, an idea occurred to me, to use an older version.

It worked.

I do appreciate the insight into resolving file and sync issues though.
