Offset disappears when I extrude

I am doing some cross sectional areas along a length and I want to extrude the inner curved shape -56mm.  When I do so however the offset'd outer curve disappears, however I want to loft or extrude it the other way.  How do I get this offset to become visible again?

Just find the sketch in the browser and click the lightbulb to toggle it's visibility.

So Q? why when you extrude does it turn the sketch off and can I stop that automatic feature somehow?

Personally I try to use a sketch for only one feature so 90% of the time having the sketch auto hide is more helpful. If you are reusing sketches a lot I wonder if your workflow is good, are you following Rule #1. There have been requests on the Ideastation for some way of having sketches stay visible, if that's going to happen I'd want a checkbox on the dialog because I wouldn't find it that helpful.
