obround to round metal transition flat pattern issues

I'm new to CAD and have managed to do concentric cones without any issues and a cone that is round to round but not concentric. I'm trying to do one that is an Obround on the bottom and Round on the top, out of 0.125" stainless and get a flat pattern that I can cut out in a laser. It doesn't have a central axis so I cannot revolve the cone. The bottom shape is Obround, 8.75" wide, 8" center to center on the inside. The top shape is round, 5.75" ID, so when thickened it's 6" OD, and is centered to the obround shape. The total height is 11.875".

I've tried the method @TheCADWhisperer showed in a video of creating a bottom sketch, off setting plane for a top sketch, lofting, creating trim sketch and trimming a cut, then creating flange sketch to create flange, thickening and joining to flange, then flat pattern. But the flat pattern isn't working for me. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong here or missing something basic, but after a few failed attempts I'm looking for some help or a method for doing similar shapes in the future. I've made this cone before doing a layout on paper and I can simply create a 2d sketch of that layout for now, but I'd like to be able to create the model and pull the flat pattern from that using Fusion360 in the future.

Thank you.
