Non-uniform gears with 3mm teeth

Please can someone help save me hours of my life? I need to add 3mm teeth spaced evenly in 3mm increments around a non-uniform shape (screenshot attached). 

 

If I use the PATTERN ALONG PATH tool, the varying corner radius' of the path mean the circle spacing differs. Currently I am manually copying & pasting hundreds of individual 3mm circle around the pattern to ensure perfect spacing.

 

A separate toothed gear wheel will eventually drive the shape around its path hence why the spacing is so important.

Hi,

 

Way above my pay grade to help you fix this but I am wondering what it is for? It is an interesting shape and

maybe sharing the purpose could prompt someone to suggest an alternate method that works for you.

Here is the pinion and file attached, thank you. It is a jig to plot a pattern, like a spirograph drawing device

This curve should be at the Pitch "diameter"

OK, I found this...

and you have both convex and concave curves which means there will have to be quite a lot of "slop" for the mechanism to not bind.

Have you actually made a physical model similar to this before that did not bind in motion?

I was about to simulate the motion in Autodesk Inventor Professional>Dynamic Simulation to show the trace of the "spirograph" but I am not sure you understand what you are getting into to get this to work.

Also, the file that you attached does not include the spur "gear".

 

And, when I examine this sketch I observe that the arc radii do not make logical sense?

Are you familiar with scientific notation?

Why this slight angle?

Why not make use of obvious symmetry about the Origin?

(Why is it obviously not symmetrical?)

Pick a logical datum for the sketch and place at the Origin.

Fully dimension the sketch and attach the new file here.

By creating a parametrically controlled offset of your defining path and recreating one frequency of your 3mm teeth I created a surface body that I patterned on path by spacing. I then adjusted to offset parameter until I got a very close alignment of first and final pattern surface body then simply stiched all the surface bodies...Should be close enough
