new update july 2016 causing program to freeze

Hi sorry just wondering if others are experiencing this problem but since the latest update 2 days ago my fusion 360 is completely slow and un responsive and there is a huge difference from before and i don't know how to go back to the last version because it seems like there are new functions but for me its a downgrade if the program is constantly lagging and slow now..

others having the same issue ?

Fusion 360 just updated for me and practically EVERY OLD MODEL I have ever worked on is COMPLETELY unusable.
I can literally add the smallest boolean cut to a cube and it takes 50 mins to calculate, sometimes freezes in the process.

Fusion works """OK""" only opening a new document, and even then, the newer created files are insanely laggy.

This last update has majorly messed up Fusion for me and I am unable to work. Fantastic 🙂

I already see topics from few days ago with no answer about this issue. I hope they're quick to notice because this is a major issue

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your trouble.

A few things:

  • Can you send us your log files? To create them launch Fusion and go to the Help (?) menu then select Diagnostic Log Files.
  • Try clearing your cache by going to the Help (?) menu then select Clear user cache data.
  • Check for any background operations that might affect either video or network operations.

Hello -

how do I send the log files to you ?

I just tried to clear the cache data, nothing happened that changed the performance.

The visual and viewport performance has majorly been compromised, I can't give you an exact amount, but it feels like it's x10, x20 slower than it used to be, as I mentioned, now if I open any previous work files I had, the performance is out of the window.

If I try to perform an operation as simple as a round boolean from a sketch for instance

 pic1.JPG
When I pull it down, that alone takes about 10 seconds.

pic2.JPG

so from that step to this, it was 10 seconds, whereas before the last update that rolled for me yesterday night.. It took no time it was just very fast.

Now, pushing enter and letting Fusion "think" about the actual cut

pic3.JPG

Fusion then starts to "think" about the operation, and takes anywhere from 10 minutes (on this scene) to 50+ when I tested it on other scenes.

As you can see I can't actually work on anything, basically the most trivial operation I perform now takes ages, practically making it impossible for me to work on anything.

In files that had previously had body-meshes inserted in them (OBJs imported and left there sitting in the scene while I Was in the model environment mode) - the performance is x50 worse than the regular old files. In those scene I am even lucky to just go around the viewport. Practically ANY operation triggers Fusion to straight up crash.
I tried to delete or remove the body meshes from those scenes (even from the time-line since they  now appeared there too) because it was taking more than 60 minutes to do, I left it to do it overnight came in the morning and didn't finish yet so I force quit it.

As of now the last update has made Fusion 100000% useless for me.

Is there a way I can roll-back to the previous version while you guys figure out what has completely broken Fusion ?

I want to emphasize that this is not something that is happening only on 1 scene, I have tested it on dozens and dozens of files I have created and they're all effected.

@gavriilklimov

if you have this on turn it off it helps, if you have it on it slow's fusion down

hey Daniel -

thanks for trying to help man, however, this is a much wider performance issue. It's not just sketches, that was an example.

Anything I do takes 30 mins whether I fillet an edge or chamfer something or I split a body... you name it.

Please refer to this topic I Created which better describes the issue I guess
