Not sure if there is any record of these issues yet.

some of my existing cloud stored tool libraries will not show up in the new preview (new format)

and how do you sort the list now? i would like to sort according to tool number!

The new tool library is incredibly slow unfortunately.  I too miss reordering.

I just tried out the new tool library with my home account, and my home tool library is fairly simple. But I need to be able to sort by tool number, and by size. I dont think I will be using this preview at work until they add some more sorting options.

I do like how you can set multiple profiles with different feeds and speeds along with DoC and stepover values.

Agree with all of the above:
Pros:
*Multiple Presets (LOVE this)
*Pretty Graphics
*Some better layout inside the tool editing dialog

Cons:
*Slow
*Lack of ability to sort in the list view (Filtering kinda works, but it's nice to just be able to look at a list instead of having to do 4 steps of filtering every time)
*Breaks several defaults when you change back to the old library, most notably the "Ramp Spindle Speed" being the same as the main Spindle Speed by default. They get unlinked for every tool and this has bit me a few times. With over 3000 tools in my database I cannot go through and reset them all myself.
*No "remove unused tools" option
*No "renumber tools" option
*Can only see description in main menu
*Can't see what tools are used for what operation
*Can't filter by Comment (I use this for a unique tool ID in my shop's database)

Was just coming to make this post..  Spent way too long searching for tools that I knew were there.. NEED to have sorting options available for tool numbers and diameters.

Also, too many layers when trying to narrow down tools..  Tried entering .375 to find my 3/8 endmill and nothing was found even though it was there..

Turned this preview off, hopefully they fix these issues because I wasted alot of time searching this morning when I could have been productive with the old layout..

I agree some of the new features are great, but I am not sure a total layout redesign was needed..

Hi everyone,

The issues mentioned here are on the roadmap and being actively worked on. As the name "Preview" suggests, it is a work in progress.

I don't know if this is the correct place to leave feedback, but ","/comma does not work in the new tool library when editing tools, only (.)/dot. Not really an issue, although it does become an annoyance when you have a European keyboard, and have to remove your hand from the numpad, just to get a decimal point.

It was, for me, one of the great pleasures moving from Mastercam to fusion, that I didn't have to do that.

Hi @simonmn12,

Thanks for the feedback.

I've logged a task to look into supporting the comma as the decimal separator - the internal tracking ID is CAM-19786.

I know the team have been working on this for a while, but as far as I can tell the "preview" version we have hasn't been changed in some time. Will it be updated to a more recent rev anytime soon, or is it going to stay the same until official release?
I'd love to see how things have been progressing and be able to give more relevant feedback instead of the same things everyone's said since we first saw the new tool library.

Hi @nick_p3dcreations ,

Getting up-to-date feedback from our users is central to my team's philosophy, so it's really good to hear that.

The focus for the last major release in January was on Electronics, so we weren't able to update the new Tool Library preview at that time. We aim to make the most recent improvements we've been making available in next major Fusion release, which is currently scheduled for March. I'll reply here with a reminder when that's available to download.

Today's release contains an updated preview of the new tool library, available via Preferences > Preview Features > Tool Library .

Please try it out and let us know what you think!

At first glance is it looking much better.

One thing I have noticed is that I cannot see the extended data parameters of any of the fields if I try to hold the shift key and hover over them. Also right clicking does not bring up any drop down menu options.

I will play with this a little more and see if there are any posting issues.
