Hello,

we are aware of the improvement of support 4K and 5K displays. You can expect the Fusion 360 for High res displays in near future.

What is the size of your display 28'' or 30'',... ?

thank you for your post

Martin

If anyone is wondering why 4k on a 15.6" screen, it's the default configuration for some high specification workstation laptops such as the Dell M3800. When using Fusion 360 I have to switch the system resolution down to 1k but that also reduces the performance of the graphics card. Looking forward to the relevant future update. Is it on the time line yet?

Thank you

Hello Fusion Team,

Just bought myself a new iMac for X-mas. Installed bootcamp and am running on Win 10 at this moment. The Mac is the new 5K model with resolution set to 5120x2880. Fusion does not seem to like this a lot. Just opening Fusion brings a massive memory load of 6588 MB at this moment. No model opened, just the blank screen.

Do you plan to check HiRes performance anytime in the near future?

Will switch to Mac and check performance again.

Merry X-mas 🙂

best regards,

Harold

Hello Harold,

it looks like you had nice X-mas 🙂 Honestly I'm not sure how optimized is Fusion performance for 4k+ resolution, your configuration isn't very often. Anyway it's good catch, I'll send it for more investigation.

Please try the Fusion on Mac. I hope it will be better.

Happy New Year

My Win 10 with Fusion in resolution (3840×2160) is around 30 fps during work, it is acceptable; but there are some optimizations we are still working in progress, like UI to reflect DPI change, and yes improving performance with high resolution displayer is one of tasks under tracking.

5120*2880 could be a little bit challenge for Fusion...I haven't tried bootcamp on the new 5K iMac, could you please check how performance looks if anti-aliasing and ambient occlusion been turned off? Hope the performance getting acceptable.

Please lease let us know your experience with Mac:)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi Adelemm,

I'm just getting to understand how this resolution works. So the Mac originally runs at 2560x1440. Fusion runs like a charm! Only canceled a local ray-tracing rendering. The graphics card was trying to take off from the runway!

So back to Windows I switched back to 2560x1440 as well. Point is Windows looks really crappy then. Now I switched to 3840x2160 like you and that looks much, much better! A little less sharp than 5120x2880 but good to work with. Fusion also runs fine now and buttons have workable sizes. I limited all effects.

So thanks for the tip 🙂

If it helps you I can send the log files if you like.

Happy New Year to you as well 🙂

Cheers,

Harold
