Need help with fundamentals / Tutor maybe?

I'm hesitant to post here because there is SO much content out there to help learn Fusion360.

However, I'm still struggling at what I feel is fundamental building blocks that I seem to be missing.

I don't have any 3d background aside from Sketchup 5 years ago.

What I'm attempting to do is design shelving for a Sprinter van, using T-slots (80/20 hardware) and including a few things in the design like Milk crates, or other things that are equally as simple, just to get a sense of scale.

The trick is, I've done it with F360 before but I ended up just using the 2d sketch and sending that to the Tslots designer.

I watched a few videos today (10-15) that were well done, but seemed to be not what I needed.

Is there anything set in place to help? I'm assuming what I'm missing is simple, and wouldn't take long to see what I'm missing with a screen sharing session.

Can you describe specifically where you are stuck, or what bit you don't understand? Let's work through one specific question at a time.

Sorry Chris, I didn't see the email notifications of replies here.

I found someone that helped me get over one hurdle, but ran into a 2nd hurdle over the weekend.

I'll see if I can describe it. I took one 1ft long piece of 80/20 tubing from McMaster. Dropped it in the design and 'Q' Pulled it to the desired length. Then copied the part, and did it a few more times.

Then decided I needed them all shorter. So I'd push 'Q', then try and 'snap' the faces to each other, but as I got down the line of 3 or 4 tubes, the other tubes I was not trying to push/pull were getting shorter too. Like I linked them or something. Couldn't work it out.

Thanks Trippy. I think I'm getting close to being ok for what I need. What I'm doing feels like it's simple, but ends up being the simple things that get in the way. I'm working in GA this week so I won't have much time to play with things.

When you Copy/Paste a component, the copy does indeed become 'linked' to the original.

If you don't want this to happen, you need instead to Copy/Paste New.
