Need help with creating a rib. Public link for the part in question attached

Hi all,

I am creating a V-Belt drive form the list of the projects. I am trying to create a rib in the bracket part of the assembly. I have tried a lot, but unfortunately, Fusion 360 hates me. Here is the link:

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks !

Hi Niket,

I have the model.  Where do you want to create the rib?

Thanks,

Hi Jeff,

I have attached the pic. This is the V-Belt drive from the library. I was going through one of the forums, where someone said that the rib feature "To Next" is buggy.

Thanks a lot !

Thanks, and sorry for the delay - got caught up in Mother's Day 🙂

Anyway, here is one way to create a rib here.

Step 1 - create a work axis through the cylinder:

Create a "Work Axis At Angle", the default angle is correct:

next, sketch on this plane. Use Project Intersection with the body, convert that intersection to a construction line, and create a line extending from that projected line.  It doesn't have to go all the way to the other side of the opening:

Then, use Rib, with a couple of important settings.  Use the "Depth" option, and flip the direction.  Then, drag the width however wide you want it, and the depth all the way until it intersects the body:

This is the result.  Hopefully, this is what you were hoping for:

good luck!

Jeff
