Is there anyone out there that can help convert Auto CAD 2D dwg files to 3D for use in Fusion 360?

New to Fusion and have projects that can not wait.

Thanks,

Ken

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Yup! All you will have to do is go into your Data Panel on the left and upload your DWG file into a project folder (more information on how to do that here). Once done and you open that file, it will now be a blank model and will have the DWG converted into the sketches folder where you can now use commands such as Extrude to turn your 2D drawing into a 3D shape!

If you want to share you file or a little more information about what you are trying to do, I would be more than happy to help you out!

Thanks,

A bit more info on DWG imports.

For curve info, each layer will create a sketch with that layer name.

Blocks in the DWG will create components in Fusion, layers within the block will create sketches in the component.
