need help blending merging bodies

hi all 

 

im modifying and existing cad model to suit what I need, the problem im having im not sure how to create and merge a area. I can sketch the basic shape but how to join it the the bodies in a pleasing way im not sure.can anyone point me in the right direction?

It is really hard to try and help you with a solution without the model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I've worked out a nice way to do the bottom phot just un sure how to blend edges on the top one

I am not real happy with this transition but it is the best I could come up with.  Model is attached.

 

By the way, I activated Capture Design History as I needed it in this model.

Added a few curves, pity the main body is not symmetric, but at least you have two sides to check out.

In my case, turn on the history Capture -

walk along the timeline, each tool was recorded in order of use.

 

In summary, added sketches to the vertical centre line, and top of the open channel.

sketched fairing Splines for a Surface Loft, sweep and Patch, then Boundary filled the cavity, mirror joined it to the barrel.
