multiple spheres on a larger sphere

Hi! I need to place multiple (>100) small spheres onto the surface of larger sphere so that there is some space in between.  Seems that Pattern command does not allow that. Would greatly appreciate advice on this.

May I ask why do you wonna do that? Or What kind of shape/s are you trying to create?

 

You should be aware of the fact that Fusion doesn't perform well with complex sketches! Just tell me about the shape and I'll help creating it the right way in Fusion.

That should be relatively simply with a little calculation Smiley Surprised  Start with the formula here, http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html, to determine the size of a ball at a particular latitude on a given sphere (The example uses the earth, but the formula works for any sphere).  Once you've created the balls along one longitude line, use a circular pattern to generate them around the sphere.

If you don't care about mathematical precision then this method may work for you.  Please don't fall asleep during the video, it's rather tedious Smiley Surprised

you can ise iso spheres (icon dome architecture) to instance spheres over each face or along each vertex. 

but fusion cannot do that. This 2 min job in Blender for me. Give me the dimensions and I can make you something.

the pattern will be more harmonius

 

 

in the image you showed they rather use rings and fill each ring with n amount of spheres and then use many ring patterns to fill

ewch horizontal ring. Result will be less harmonious

That would be great! The large sphere is 10cm in diameter. Small spheres are 3 mm in diameter with the same spacing between them (i.e. the density of small spheres should be the same everywhere: on the equator and the poles).
