Multiple instance of component

I have a housing for a bearing that will get used in lots of places.

Should I copy and past the component with `Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V` or is there a more proper way to do it?

The dimensions of the instances will be identical, just position and orientation will change.

Doesn't really matter, only advantage to using the mouse is after copy or Ctrl+C is you can right click a component and paste into it.

I was thinking the duplicating the component, rather than the bodies so you get a component appended with a version number.

I was not talking about bodies. Right click a component in the browser, select copy then select a component to paste into. You might want subassemblies rather than all components under the root component. One thing to be careful of if you use Ctrl+V is it will paste into the active component.

OK.

Whichever way you do the copy & paste though, that is what you do.  Create lots of instances with different version numbers.

Yes. If you create a 2d drawing from the design with a BOM it will show how many instances of the component are in the design. The are also BOM plugins for the model workspace so the incremental numbers can be useful.
