Multi-account file transfering

I use 2 accounts, one is payed and the other isn't.

I wanted to bring a design from my pay account to my free account, I did it through stl file saving and then uploading onto free account, i got the triangle upload, i know how that works, however with the tool used to get rid of triangles, it gives me colours everywhere (sorry i forgot tool name) and because my free account doesn't have access to use the other 2 tools (I'm really sorry I am super bad at names...) is there another way to transfer files between accounts or to do another way of transfering the file without triangles.

Preferably i'm looking for a way between accounts but I will take any other workarounds

With regards

Ricky

Why .stl? Was it not a native Fusion design?

I'm 14, I don't have the time to master one CAD program, even though fusion is my main and plan to master it in the future for jobs, ect...

so I often swap between blender, fusion and a few others that don't need to be discussed

I know someones going to question it because I'm 14, technically it's not my pay account but given to me by someone I know who's company has a payed fusion plan and he doesn't use it, so i got access to his account

What has that to do with the correct file format for exchange between Fusion accounts?

For native Fusions designs you should always use .f3d or .f3z. Those files contain the full design history and all the timeline features.

I would not recommend exporting triangulated meshes (.stl)  to Blender for continued modeling. Only use them for rendering.

Properly modeled Sub-D meshes (quad meshes) from Blender can be exported as .obj files (and I belive aso .usdz) and imported into Fusiojn. in Fuiosn you can convert them into T-Splines.

At 14, you got all the time in the world! Use it wisely!

Someone might, but frankly that isn't their business!

Thank you

Also, when I transfer files I use stl for everything, its my default setting now. I used to use f3z and obj. however i sometimes ran into problems with transfering between programs, so even tho stl is more work, it is more flexible between programs and doesn't create too many problems as it works everywhere for me

Hi @TrippyLighting
any reply? if there isn't then it's fine. I can just remake the whole design instead.

Kind regards

You can transfer designs from the free to the paid account without having to export anything.

To transfer designs from the paid to the free account you'll have to export the designs as .f3d, or .f3z.

Only when you need to use Fusion designs in other non-CAD software, for example Blender, should you use .obj.

A better option for importing Fusion assemblies into Blender is .fbx as it maintains the assembly structure.

.stl should only be used for 3D printing. It is the least common denominator to represent 3D geometry.
