moving a sketch object!!

Why a basic operation should be so hard for a newbei?
If I move the spline curve for somehow I lose the profile(orange thing!)

Doing a new sketch, drawing the same shape spline curve. Again can't move it!

If I draw the same shape with 'Line' no problem moving it with the profile.

It shouldn't be that complicated

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for sharing the model! I think I know what the issue is. It looks like you have two separate splines that are not fully connected. I can see this due to the white point. The white point indicates a free point. The image below shows constraint status a bit better. More information about constraint status can be found here.

As I demonstrate in the screencast below, these two splines have no constraint joining them - thus they are free to move without relationship to one another. By snapping one endpoint to another (thus automatically creating a coincident constraint), you can achieve the behavior you are looking for.

I already did what you showed in the screencast.

The point has already joined or closed etc..

Now get out of the sketch, move the whole spline curve. The curve will move without the inside orange plane. Thus, you cant select the inside of the curve to extrude, loft or sweep smt. It becomes a USELESS object.

Btw I have already done that in another document. This one i shared just don't want to move and I want to learn why as I have struggling very much with sketch objects. The worst part of this software is the sketch objects. The best part is the support. Thanks for your support. 🙂

If you are moving the whole spline curve in a direction that loses the 2d profile, then you are likely moving it off the sketch plane,

Fusion believes that is what you want to do, and allows it, by converting to a 3d sketch, profiles are unavailable in 3d sketches.

If you need to move the sketch off plane direction, copy it to another 2d sketch.

Might help...
