Move Tool Axis Doesn't Match Plane

I've started a new 2D sketch, on an XZ plane. I drew a line at Z=0, and want to move it to a specific height (Z=0.903) as a construction line.  As you can see from the img, I'm moving it "up" the Z axis, but Move shows the direction is in the Y direction instead of Z, and it's Negative, not Positive.

I've seen this frequently, not really a problem as I know it's being moved where I want it to be, but is there something I'm missing here?

Nope, that’s how it is,

but, use constraints and dimensions not the Move tool, in your case after moving, you still have to dimension it, so the Move tool requires (2 + step) process, and can be redundant by adding the same moves as a set of dimensions.

A better idea, put it there first.

OK, but from my previous life as a programmer, the dialog seems... weird!  Wrong axis, wrong direction, peculiar.

Accept your point re dimensions etc, but I often don't see any grid dimensions on the axis once I've zoomed in a bit, and wanted to be absolutely sure I was at X=0 for my starting point.  That may be because I'm still laboriously working on a 12+ yo laptop, but my new "CAD friendly" laptop arrives any day now.  🙂

X zero is horizontal to the origin.  If you don’t use the Move tool, you got nothing to distract you, and hiding the grid will remove another level of distraction.

All the sketching tutorials recommend sketching - constrain as you go, or get them close and constrain., Blue lines and white dots should be of more concern (splines excepted) than the Move Dialogue Box.

Yes, as I get more familiar with F360, I'm using constrain more. Although I do get some "over constrained" errors at times. Still learning. 🙂
