Move in a sketch - Z axis

I do apologize if this has been asked before..  I did a search and there were many search results regarding the move function in a sketch environment  (meaning it would take some time to go through each one)..  Smiley Very Happy   Also I've been away from Fusion 360 for quite some time  Smiley Sad and trying to get back into it.

May I ask what is the purpose of moving a 2D sketch in the "Z" axis?   It seems like when that occurs you can't really do anything with those "Z" coordinate entities.  Or am I missing something here?

Hi Mark,

I personally use it a lot to get 2 profiles, the original and an offset, and that helps a lot especially in the loft command

but of course this is one of so many cases that moving along z-axis can be used in

Here are some pictures to help you understand what I mean

Regards

Saeed

@SaeedHamza

Thanks..  After I posted I was kind of thinking of those items..   So use to Inventor interface and multiple sketches to do those type of things..

I'm not used to Inventor to be honest, so I didn't understand the last part 😛

But I'm glad I could help

Best of luck

Sorry I meant in Inventor I would have to create multiple individual sketches to accomplish the same thing, whereas Fusion I could do all the sketches under a single sketch operation.  Thanks again for your help.
