Model seems to be under the grid

I noticed that a project that I am working on seems to place the model UNDER the grid. As fare as I can determine, I constructed all my geometry a X0Y0 on the TOP grid. However, when I view the model it is transparent (I have SHADED selected as my Viewing style). If I view from the front, it appears that all my model geometer is based 1.20" below the grid. Any ideas as to why this would happen?

It would help if you posted screen shots and attached your model so we can look at it.

As far as your model being transparent, it's probably because you don't have the top component active, but that's just a guess.

Hi Phil:

DUUUUHHHHH... Thank you for the cold codfish of reality smack in the face! Yes, indeed, the top component wasn't active and as you stated, the geometry was transparent. As soon as I activated the top tier, everything came back into view and on the grid as I had expected. Keep that fish handy, I have plenty more stupid questions to come!

Seriously, this is a superb forum!
