Mesh Error on Simple design

Hi All

can anyone assist as to why this model wont mesh properly.  Ive tried various mesh sizes and options.

The model is really simple.  I seem to be having this more often.  I often re-do the model exactly the same and that time it will work.  Not sure what im doing wrong.

Its for a vessel under external pressure.  Rigid body modes removed.

Here you go.  Your end caps had a seam in the apex so I used surfaces to fix it.  You had a overlap between the main body and the tower base.  Model is attached.

Edit: please note the town section is not open to the tank so that may affect your results.

Hi John,

Thanks so much for that.  Very much appreciated.

Would you mind explaining a bit more on how you found the problems and what you did to fix it?

Kind Regards
James

The video will explain, overall, what I did to correct your model so it would mesh in the Simulation Environment.  I will mention it again that your the tower is not open to the tank so this will probably not give the results you desire.

John, I just watched the video.  Thanks for taking the time to explain that for me.  The fact that it didnt knit in the centre of the revolve is interesting.   Also the way around it was nice with the surface revolve and thicken.

This will help me in future.
Kind Regards
James
