Mesh Alignment

Hi. I was thinking that the mesh align has a problem in that the triangles are not well aligned with the surface you want to capture. I think what you would really want to do is to capture a number of 3-point planes, then take the average of those planes as the plane you want to align to another plane. In practice, what I do, is to  construct a 3 point plane, then another one (using points very different from the first one, but on the same mesh surface), then I draw a sketch on the first plan and drop down 3 points, then create a sketch on the second plane, and project the points from the first sketch here. then I construct a 2 point axes through each of those sets of points, and find the mid point, then I use those 3 mid points to construct the final 3 point plane. If this was automated, I image you can use more than 2 planes to get a more accurate final plane. What do you think about automating this process?
