Measure / Move

I am having trouble getting the measure option to work in the Move dialog box.

Has anyone gotten predictable results from it?

Could you be possibly more specific ? How about a screencast to explain what it is you're trying to accomplish ?

I move a component point to point to get the edge to line up.  The body of the component might be off by 30 degs.  The manipulator is then placed on the contact point. I grab the appropriate arc and swing the component. The arc window showing movement is dropped down and measurement selected. Sometimes the component jumps to 90. Sometimes a value shows.

As I've said, with these workfow oriented problems it's hard to assess what's going wrong with out seeing a screencast.
