Measure maximum distance between 2 arcs

Measure.JPGHi there.

Iv a pretty simple question. So simple, in fact, that I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious.

As an example I have a very simple part with 2 rounded ends. Lets say I import this in from a different source and I need to machine the part. I need to pull the dimensions from the drawing to cut some stock for machining.

I can go to the measure tool and select the two end arc's but instead of giving me the maximum distance between the 2 arc's, it is instead giving me the distance between the 2 centre points. I can turn on snap points but that doesn't help.

I know there are other ways of getting this dimension but its something that the measure tool should have.

I'm thinking when you are measuring you are clicking on the inside face of the arcs, Holding control when over the face will give you different snap points to measure from. Will reply with screencast after I download it.

Gotta make sure snap points are turned on in the measure tool.

JustaBill, that is awesome. I knew there had to be something in Fusion to allow to snap to a point. I just taught that when I had the 'Show snap points' box ticked that it would automatically do that for me.

Thank you for your help.

No problems, glad to be of help to the forum that's helped me out. ( First screencast AND first solution)  Another work around if you need to measure something that doesn't conform to the snap points is just start a new sketch, project and draw a line. Undo them to keep a clean time line if need to.
