McMaster Carr scaling

I am trying to insert a 48" x 96" sheet of expanded metal into my design. Every time I download a 48" x 96" file, it comes in at different sizes but no bigger than 14 inches. Anybody had this issue and know a solution?

Hi Brandon,

What file format did you choose to download from the McMaster Carr website?

Many thanks!

I tried the 3D STEP and 3D SAT files on many different parts.

Hi! STEP files are unit-aware. So the geometry stored in the STEP file should be imported exactly the same irrespective of choice of unit. So an inch long edge stored in the STEP file should measure 25.4mm or 1 inch on the imported body. SAT files are not unit-aware. It will depend on the default unit in Fusion to get the right size.

Please share an example of McMaster Carr downloaded file that exhibits the scaling issue. I would like to understand it behavior better.

Many thanks!
