Manipulation splines in sketch mode

Hi, new to Fusion 360 and have a "how to" question.

My process:

1. In sketch mode, I've created a spline

2. I copied that spline and moved it

3. I shaped the spline as needed

Now I would like to mirror that spline and can't. Can someone please help"

Thanks Opy

Hello @Anonymous

Can you please post a screencast video. I am not able to reproduce the issue according to the steps mentioned.

Thank you,

Is it still a 2D curve, or in your manipulations of the curve, is it now a 3D curve?

Thanks for responding.

Instead of moving the curve on the same plane, move  it on a different plane, i.e. like moving it towards you, manipulating it and then mirror on the original plane

Thanks

Its now a 3D curve moved parallel  away from the original plane

Sketch>Mirror mirrors around a Line, not around a Plane. You might have noticed when mirroring your spline while it was still on the sketch plane.

It cannot handle 3D geometry. Anything off the sketch plane cannot be Sketch>Mirrored, and anything that was mirrored first and them moved off the sketch plane will lose its Symmetry constraint.

I suspect my wording of the process has caused some confusion.
Process:

1. Create sketch spline on front plane
2. Copy and Paste. Change view to Top View and move the copied spline
parallel to the Front plane.
3. Then switch back to the TOP View and manipulate the spline.
4. Now try and mirror the copied/manipulated spline using Front Plane.

Any suggestions on how this is done?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Just thought there was an easier way to perform the process
