Making a spring with Fusion 360

Hi.  I'm following this tutorial for making a working extension spring with Fusion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwwy7mdfTHE&feature=youtu.be

You'll notice that if you select the topmost coil segment (not the eye just above it), then you can drag it so as to make the entire spring elongate via a series of revolve joints connecting the coil segments.  Cool.  However, if you simply unsuppress the rigid attachment to the eye just above, all you can succeed in doing thereafter is to flex the topmost revolute of the stack of segments that constitutes the coil.  Can anyone tell why that is preventing the whole coil from working?  If someone can help, I'll post the entire working extension spring here when I'm done.

I don't know WHAT's going wrong with *.3fd file.  Every time I try to export it from Fusion, it saves it as a *.3fz file denoting that it's an archive file.  But that causes an error when I try to attach it to this post.  So, I rename it (I know I know) as an *.3fd.  Then the message with attach posts fine, but it can't be opened thereafter.  I'm stuck.  It looks fine inside the web portal, doesn't show that it's been deleted.  Strange.  Sorry for the invalid attach.  Actually, I think it can be opened, if you rename it back to *.3fz after download.  Can anyone open it?
