Making a cube pattern in reliëf

Hi everyone,

Hope ur doing well.

I'm looking to create a cube pattern in relief.

this kind of thing : 

The aim is to make a chocolate plate, it would be awesome to have this relief on it.

Could you help me on this matter? I've drawn a cube in a sketch, but I dunno how to turn this properly in relief..

Please find attached my example file for this type of pattern.

For my workflow I used a number of different tools to achieve a tessellated cube pattern with a flat bottom, making it possible to be used as a chocolate plate.

You can follow my design history to understand the workflow. Overall it is fairly simple, using rectangular patterns.

@matt.oosthuizen Thanks for your answer & for the example.

I forgot to mention that the relief need to be applied on a fine plate of +/- 3mm deep (it's for a buche cake), like this:

So the relief needs to be upright (not like stairs) and quite light. Can't be deeper than 4mm.

Are you more after the illusion of a 3D cubes in the chocolate?

That's not exactly what I'm looking for. The cubes themselves should be more in relief.

I made a video from a project on another software. See attached.

This is the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Do you get the idea?

My solutions is driven from 3 parameters.
Hexagon width (the 3 faces of a cube)
Maximum thickness (from bottom to highest "peek")

Relief cut depth (how deep the relief cuts in from thickness above)

If you want a bigger pattern edit rectangular patterns, update the combines, and change rectangle cut.
But be careful tessellation patterns are hard on Fusion 360.
