Make alternative assembly of components that are not in data panel

Hi,

i wonder if there is any way to move components that were modeled in-context to a new component, to mate them differently. It needs to have the "linked" icon, so that they update when i change something in the "mother assembly".

I can get the components into the data panel using "Save as copy" but the components are not linked after that.

It doesn't help to copy all the sketches and stuff needed for the "sub-component" to be autonomous, does it?

In the mother assembly use Create -> derive. Int he derive dialog...

Select "Create new design" and select the "One component as design option"

the select the component you want to reuse and click ok. 

A new tab will open of the selected component. You can save and name it wherever you like. This is associative to the mother assembly.
