In Europe all metrics are in millimeters, meters and so on. MacMaster Carr have less metrics like that.

I have searched for bearings. All bearings are provided in Inch. Not usable!

Other stuff has no cad models provided. What is that, a compromise?

You can always find a European manufacture that provides 3d models in their online catalog 🙂

McMaster-Carr seems to have quite a few metric bearings: http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-ball-and-roller-bearings/=wfual1

hi macmanpb,

estimating by your user name you are running on a mac?  There is a solution for Windows, a plug-in from Cadenas available at the Autodesk Exchange site.  Unfortonately Cadenas has only made a windows compatible plug-in.

I have used the site solidcomponents.com, there are lots of suppliers from the EU in there.  The down side is they aggregate from multiple suppliers and each supplier usually requires an account set up to access their database of components.

that said, yes the McMaster-Carr was put in as a first step for giving users accross all OS platforms access to standard components within Fusion.  Since the majority of Fusion users are currently in the US we felt this was a reasonable place to start.  We are in the process of outlining a broader strategy for content and content access for all Fusion users, but in the mean time will have to rely on availability from outside vendors to sastify this need.

The availability of content is a big issue to tackle and we want to do it right for Fuision users, would apreciate getting some insight from you what you would like or expect to have with regard to access of standard components within Fusion.

hope this helps,

That was 7 years ago. At what strategy have you arrived? Can you point to an article or documentation?
