I'm trying to make a semi-circle stereographic projection cover but am running into some trouble with the Loft function. The overall goal is to project a pattern from a plane to a point (pictured below) and having that projection cut away from a semi-circle shell, so lofting appears to be the best tool for the job.
This is what the pattern looks like, in the following screen captures I only use a small section of it so as to not clutter the screen:
When I select a simple "hole" in the pattern and use Loft in it's "cut" mode, everything works fine:
But when I try to select the area of the sketch I want to "keep" and try to use the "intersect" mode, it acts as though only the outline of the sketch has been selected and ignores the holes:
Is there a set of parameters in the Loft function that allows the lofting of a sketch with holes in it? Or a function other than loft that's more suited to this kind of work? Lofting each hole individually is an option but will be super time consuming.
