Loft with coinciding splines at end-point fails

Recently I've read this thread so I assumed it may be possible to loft a couple of splines that coincide at one point. However, Fusion reports that this is not possible. Is there something wrong with the sketches I have made?  I have also tried to use a rail, which did not help unfortunately.

I've attached an image with the splines I intended to loft, but later abandoned to work around this. The image shows which sketch it is and where it can be found in the timeline of the model (which shows the desired end result).

Actually that was how I got it working eventually. I just figured it out. Rather than selecting new profiles, Fusion ends up chain selecting the splines (even though they are separate splines and chain selection was turned off), hitting the plus mark was what I should have done, stupid of me to have missed that.
