if i draw a line, it is sometimes a separate line and sometimes a polyline or continuous line.
This is very frustrating if you want to do an offset of a complex line.
can you switch this on or off somewhere?polyline.png

I am not entirey sure what you are talking about, but if you want to select a chain of connected line segments in order to create an offset profile from it you shuld double-click on a line segment that belongs ot the outline you want to offset from.

@Anonymous,

All lines in Fusion are separate lines - Fusion does not support a polyline object (the command makes it look like a polyline, because you are creating lines end-to-end, but they are still individual lines).

If you are seeing problems with the offset command, it could be bugs in that command, or some disconnects in your design.  For instance, this point seems a bit suspicious to me:

If you are willing to share your design, and maybe a screencast of what you are trying to offset, we would be happy to look at it.

Thanks,

Jeff

When I stop the sketch and edit it later, it does work well. I can even offset a line that has been offset before, so no disconnects.

if it is a bug, can it be repaired or do i have to reinstal fusion.

If you can share your design, we can tell whether it is a bug or not.  Re-installing Fusion is almost certainly not going to help.
